Ghanche, Gilgit-Baltistan
Granite towers and big walls in a side valley off Hushe — famous climbing amphitheatre above Kanday.
Famous for
Granite big walls and towers including Amin Brakk (~5,850 m), Changi Tower (~5,820 m), and the Great Tower — the Yosemite of the Karakoram above Hushe.
Temperatures are typical seasonal ranges. Mountain weather changes quickly, so check the forecast before you travel.
Towers of Nangma Valley are the soaring granite spires that wall in Nangma, a side valley of Hushe in Ghanche, Gilgit-Baltistan. Climbers call the cirque the Yosemite of the Karakoram: clean rock, vertical faces, and named objectives such as Amin Brakk (~5,850 m), the Great Tower, Grey Tower, and Changi Tower (~5,820 m).
Most visitors reach the towers on a multi-day trek from Kanday (near Hushe village): river bridges, a narrowing gorge, then meadows around 3,950 m with the walls directly overhead. A day hike to roughly 4,300 m opens views toward K6 (7,282 m) across the valley — the same panorama climbing teams use as their base.
Skardu and Khaplu gateway: Road access runs Skardu → Khaplu → jeep up Hushe to Kanday. We quote transport, permits guidance, and camping support on Skardu tour packages when you add a Hushe or trek extension.
Trek, not a roadside stop: Unlike Passu Cones on the KKH, the towers need 2–3 days of walking from Kanday. Fit trekkers with prior hill days are the right audience; there is no jeep road to the meadows.
Season: Late June through August is the practical window — snow off the bridges, meadows usable, and the same window international teams use for rock routes. Shoulder months can work with shorter days and colder camps.
Combine the towers with places to visit in Skardu (Shangrila, Upper Kachura, Khaplu Fort) if you want lake days before a Hushe trek. Message dates on WhatsApp — we align drivers, jeeps, and camp gear to your group size.
Towers of Nangma Valley is part of the itinerary in these 2 packages.

They stand in Nangma Valley, a granite side valley off Hushe in Ghanche district, Baltistan. The usual trailhead is Kanday village (~2,680 m), reached by jeep from Khaplu after the drive from Skardu.
Drive Skardu to Khaplu (about 3 hours), then jeep up Hushe valley to Kanday. From Kanday it is typically two to three trekking days to the upper meadows beneath the towers. PTG quotes private transport and trek logistics on request.
Amin Brakk is the best-known tower in the cirque — roughly 5,850 m with a near-vertical granite face of about 1,200 m. It was first climbed in 1999 and remains a major big-wall objective; trekkers see it from camp without climbing.
Plan for late June through August for stable trekking and the same window climbing teams use. Outside that period, cold, snow on bridges, and shorter days make the approach harder.
