Question 1

What are the Kalash festival dates for 2026 and 2027?

Accepted Answer

Kalash festival dates 2026: Chilam Joshi group 12–18 May (festival about 13–16 May); Uchal group 17–23 August (festival about 18–22 August); Choimus public-week group 16–22 December. Kalash festival dates 2027: Chilam Joshi group 11–17 May (festival about 12–17 May); Uchal group 19–25 August (festival about 20–22 August); Choimus public-week group 15–21 December. Elders confirm exact days about two weeks before each Kalash festival tour.

Question 2

What is the Kalash festival tour price?

Accepted Answer

Kalash festival tour price is on request. There is no published PKR figure until Pakistan Travel Guide quotes your group size and chosen Kalash festival dates. The quote covers the Coaster on day 1, listed hotels, driver expenses, tolls, sightseeing and the Kalash jeep as arranged. Entry fees, meals, insurance and extra mattresses are extra. Tap Book on the booking table for a written quote.

Question 3

What are Chilam Joshi, Uchal and Choimus?

Accepted Answer

They are the three Kalash festivals this Kalash festival tour is built around. Chilam Joshi is the spring festival in mid-May (dancing, flowers, new season). Uchal is the late-August harvest (wheat, walnuts, cheese). Choimus is the winter-solstice new year in December — the most sacred; week one is usually community-only, so groups join the public second week.

Question 4

Which Kalash festival dates should I book?

Accepted Answer

Book May on this Kalash festival tour for Chilam Joshi if you want the busiest spring dances. Book August for Uchal if you prefer a quieter harvest. Book December for Choimus if you want the winter rite — only the public second week. See the booking table for Kalash festival dates in 2026 and 2027.

Question 5

How long is the Kalash festival tour?

Accepted Answer

The Kalash festival tour is 7 days and 6 nights, Islamabad to Islamabad, by road through Lowari Tunnel.

Question 6

Which hotels are used?

Accepted Answer

Nagar Fort (night 1), Ayun Inn for three Kalash nights, Trich Mir Chitral for two Chitral nights. Extra mattresses are not included in the Kalash festival tour price until quoted.

Question 7

What vehicle is used?

Accepted Answer

A Toyota Coaster Saloon from Islamabad is assigned on day 1 of this group Kalash festival tour. Kalash jeep sectors are arranged with the group and listed on the quote.

Question 8

Do foreigners need a NOC for Kalash Valley?

Accepted Answer

A NOC is not currently required. Foreign visitors register passports in Chitral and pay the valley entry fee — that fee is not inside the Kalash festival tour price until the quote says so. Rules can change — we brief the group before departure.

Question 9

Can Choimus dates change, and is the first week open?

Accepted Answer

Yes, elders can shift Kalash festival dates. Choimus week one is normally closed to outsiders. December groups on this Kalash festival tour are timed to the public second week. We reconfirm about two weeks out.
