Pakistan Travel Guide hosted World Tourism Day in Muzaffarabad — AI adoption is already moving fast

World Tourism Day, hosted in Muzaffarabad

Pakistan Travel Guide hosted a World Tourism Day conference in Muzaffarabad on 28 September 2026. The hall sat under AJK and Pakistan flags. The screens behind the panel were not a generic “visit Kashmir” montage. They named the day clearly: a seminar on World Tourism Day, with the working title Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism.

That is the right room for PTG to occupy. We are an AJK-licensed operator (AJK10) with our head office in Muzaffarabad. World Tourism Day is usually marked on 27 September. We held the session the next day in our own city, with the tourism department branding visible in the hall, and put artificial intelligence at the centre of the agenda instead of treating it as a side slide.

The point of the day was not a souvenir photograph. It was a practical question: can a Kashmir operator adopt artificial intelligence in tourism fast enough to change how guests find a trip, get a quote, and actually travel? PTG’s answer, shown in how we already work, is yes — and we are not waiting for a five-year digital policy to start.

The topic was AI. PTG is already using it

Most tourism firms in Pakistan still treat AI as a future brochure line. PTG did not wait for that. Our adoption of artificial intelligence is already fast because we put it into the same loop that sells tours: the website, the quote, and the follow-up on WhatsApp.

That shows up in ordinary work, not in a demo booth:

  • New hotels, sightseeing pages and package copy go live on the CMS in hours, with AI used to draft, check and publish against the live inventory.
  • Guest questions are turned into WhatsApp quotes the same day, including a public enquire form that writes name, dates, group size and destination straight into chat.
  • The public site already publishes structured pages and an llms.txt file so AI assistants can cite live Hunza, Skardu and Kashmir packages instead of stale PDFs.
  • Operations in Muzaffarabad and Islamabad share the same source of truth. If a room or road changes, the page changes with it.

That is what “fast” means here. Not a chatbot nobody monitors. A licensed operator using AI to shorten the gap between a guest asking and a real itinerary leaving the office. Other firms are still commissioning websites. PTG is already running the next version of the same work every week.

Why AI belongs in AJK tourism now

Azad Kashmir’s visitor economy is not abstract. Families start in Islamabad, sleep, then take the Muzaffarabad road. When the capital is tense, Neelum and Rawalakot feel it the next morning. Guests delay. Dates move. The operator who can rewrite a quote in minutes keeps the booking. The operator who waits for a designer to update a flyer loses it.

Artificial intelligence is useful in that setting because tourism here is high-touch and short-window. A Hunza or Neelum enquiry is a name, a few dates, a starting city, and a destination — the same fields we now collect on the PTG enquire form. AI helps us answer that shape of question quickly. It does not replace the driver, the hotel list, or the AJK10 licence. It removes the lag.

For AJK, that lag is expensive. Peak months are short. A slow reply in September is an empty room in October. Hosting World Tourism Day on AI in Muzaffarabad was a way of saying the valley does not have to import its digital agenda from somewhere else. The work can start here.

Certificates, and what we will do with the day

The session closed with certificates in the same hall. That is the public face of the day. The private face is the publishing cadence we already run: Kashmir and Neelum pages kept current, WhatsApp quotes that match live hotels, and no invented rates.

If you are planning autumn travel, start from live Kashmir tour packages or the full tours list. Walk-in questions still go through our Muzaffarabad and Islamabad offices. For a same-day WhatsApp quote, use the enquire form. World Tourism Day is one date. Artificial intelligence, at PTG, is already part of the weekday.
